BEACHES
Nude beaches are where thousands of people have their first experience with public nudity. For good reason. Sun and water feel great on a naked body, a swimsuit does nothing for you other than feel wet, sticky and sandy after you’ve gone for a swim. There is a freedom and relaxation from being naked on the beach that you just can’t get when you have to wear clothes.
Sometimes the terms clothing-optional beach or free beach are used, and in Europe the term FKK is a way to designate that social nudity is allowed at the beach. Since most nude beaches are on public land, there is no special nudist or naturist club membership required. Just bring your towel, sunscreen and great attitude for a day of nude sunbathing and nude recreation.
In a Gallup poll, 25% of people said they had gone skinny-dipping in mixed company, and 80% said they thought that nude beaches should be allowed for people who enjoy social public nudity. With such a huge selection of nude beaches to choose from, it’s time to visit some nude beaches, clothing optional beaches, or whatever you want to call them, for some nude sunbathing or recreation.
California has a great selection of beaches where you can get naked. Black’s Beach in San Diego is a huge, beautiful beach where you can be naked for several miles. Sand is powdery and white, water is clear and warm (in summer) and you can choose between a wide variety of naked sports including nude volleyball, naked surfing, nude running and much more. San Onofre, closer to Los Angeles and Orange County is another great nude beach. Nude surfing is popular from June through September, and you’ll find naked women and men sunbathing in the nude and enjoying the sunshine all year long.
Northern California has many smaller nude beaches including Bonny Doon, Baker Beach and Red Rock where games of naked ultimate Frisbee will give you a workout on your nude day.
Some of the countries top nude beaches are on the Atlantic ocean including Sandy Hook in New Jersey where nudists can view the New York skyline from the nude beach, and Haulover near Miami where thousands of nudists swim and relax on a tropical beach just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Miami. Both are well established with snack bars and concession stands where you can order your lunch in the nude, then rent a lounge chair for relaxing.
In Europe, nude beaches are even more common. Every country has hundreds of designated nude beaches and in Denmark and Norway it’s legal on all beaches. The same is true on the Spanish island of Formentera where most beaches are nude with a casual and laid-back attitude towards the thousands of naked men and women enjoying a vacation au naturel.
