The Facilities
Desert Paradise offers plenty to keep you entertained, and of course the many attractions of Palm Springs are just outside the gates. The grounds are always Clothing Optional, which makes it more fun to enjoy the large swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Both are heated year round and feature salt water filter systems. There are dozens of lounge chairs around the pool, Jacuzzi and lawn – or relax naked in a hammock swinging from the palm trees. A fully tiled steam bath and cedar lined sauna are available, with an outdoor shower where you can cool off after heating up. There’s even an outdoor massage pavilion where you can work out the stress of life outside of paradise.
The entire property features free Wi-Fi, and there are two computers in the comfortable office lounge if you don’t have your own. An assortment of tables offer places to enjoy a meal, a game of cards or a cocktail. We found a friendly group of naked guys catching some shade and a card game on our visit, and were invited to join them.
The resort doesn’t have a bar, so bring your own with you which you can keep nice and cold since every room comes with a refrigerator.
At night the gardens are lit like a tropical wonderland and the oversized fire pit provides a welcome glow. The soft sounds of over 14 fountains around the property will keep you relaxed and ready for fun.
Although they don’t have a restaurant, Desert Paradise does have a well stocked breakfast bar which is complimentary each morning. Some coffee, a bagel, fresh fruit and wander naked to the pool. Life is good.
The Lodging
There are 12 rooms available, all of them opening to a covered walkway and overlooking the tropical gardens and pool. The décor is relaxed and comfortable. All have king-sized beds, and some offer pull-down Murphy beds as well. Several are suites with a separate living room and kitchens. All rooms are well appointed and include 27” TV’s, DVD players and adult cable channels. Bathrooms are designed to a luxury resort standard and include oversized showers with massage showerheads.
The Location
Warm Sands is in the south Palm Springs area. We like this area of south Palm Springs as it’s beyond the wind zone. On days when the wind blow – which is common in Spring – it can be much warmer and nicer here, than just a few miles to the north. It’s a mixture of small hotels and resorts and upscale residential. Many of the other hotels in the area also cater to gay clientele. Downtown Palm Springs restaurants, bars and clubs are just a few minutes away by car or bike
Visiting
You need to be a hotel guest to enjoy the amenities and ambiance of Desert Paradise. Room rates start as low as $99 per night mid-week and are higher for weekends or special events. Long weekends tend to fill up early, but if you call Dale or Ron at 800-342-7635 or 760-320-5650 they’ll let you know what’s available and help you out.
You can visit their website at www.desertparadise.com or check back here for the complete report and video of our next trip.
